I visited Spassland Park recently and made a few recordings. The date was September 23, 2006. The day started out with heavy rains in the early afternoon and then was calm near the end of the night. The park is located in Germantown, Wisconsin just kiddy-corner to County Line Elementary School. The park features a ball diamond, two tennis courts, a covered pavilion, a play-set, and many other recreation inspired areas. A paved trail circles the entire park and runs along residents backyards on the North side.
The equipment I used for the recordings was simple and easy to find. For the mic I used two Panasonic WM61-A electret condenser microphone capsules that were soldered to a stereomic cable with connector. The recording device was a SONY NH-700 digital sound recorder with 80 minute Standard Mini-Discs. I used JVC HA-G101 stereo headphones to listen in-on what I was recording.
I hope you enjoy the recordings and will continue to check back to see my updates!
